KPN, T-Mobile report 4G home broadband success

21 Sep 2016

Dutch telcos KPN and T-Mobile plan to continue offering 4G services as a fixed broadband replacement for home and business users in rural areas. A report from Telecompaper says that KPN is now targeting 130,000 rural households with the service, up from 100,000 when it launched a year ago. T-Mobile, meanwhile, says it is currently conducting a Beta trial of its ‘4G voor Thuis’ services with 500 home users and plans a commercial launch in October. Both operators have near-nationwide coverage with their respective 4G LTE networks, making them suitable for connecting users in areas which do not have access to high speed fixed services.
