French conglomerate Bouygues Group has reported revenue of EUR14.669 billion (USD16.34 billion) for the six months ended 30 June 2016, a decrease of 3% from EUR15.098 billion in the year-ago quarter. The firm generated a net profit attributable to the group (excluding exceptional items) of EUR46.0 million in the first half of 2016, a slight improvement from a loss of EUR4.0 million twelve months earlier. Bouygues Telecom recorded a 6% year-on-year rise in revenue, however, from EUR2.156 billion in 1H15 to EUR2.291 billion, while its EBITDA grew by EUR85 million in the twelve-month period to EUR408 million. The telecoms operator’s net loss narrowed to EUR12.0 million in H1 2016 from EUR66.0 million in the year-ago period.
In operational terms, Bouygues Telecom reported a total of 15.343 million subscribers at 30 June 2016 (up from 14.989 million three months earlier), including 12.433 million mobile customers (12.130 million in 1Q16) and 2.910 million fixed broadband subscribers (2.859 million). The operator claimed a total of six million 4G LTE users at mid-2016, equivalent to 58% of its mobile base (excluding M2M), compared to 42% in 2Q15.
