ER-Telecom completes WestCall takeover in St. Petersburg

30 Aug 2016

ER-Telecom has completed the acquisition of 100% of LLC WestCall SPb, a fixed line operator with assets in St. Petersburg (WestCall) and Leningrad Oblast (InfoCenter), as well as a pair of subsidiaries in Ryazan (InterTelecom and Star Telecom). WestCall and its sister companies offer residential triple-play services (wireline, broadband, pay-TV) and also provide corporate data services to some 15,000 customers. No purchase price has been disclosed.

As previously reported by TeleGeography’s CommsUpdate, in May 2016 ER-Telecom received Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) approval for the takeover, amid speculation that it was planning a deal for the enlarged WestCall Group, which also comprises WestCall Moscow, Iskratelecom (Moscow), Columbia-Telecom (Volgograd) and AIST (Samara and Togliatti).
