A1 rolls out FTTB in Graz

30 Aug 2016

A1, the domestic fixed and mobile subsidiary of the Telekom Austria Group, has announced plans to roll out a new fibre-to-the-building (FTTB) network to around 30,000 households and apartments in Graz within the next twelve months. The first phase of expansion will see the Geidorf, St. Leonhard and Gries districts of Austria’s second largest city covered by the new infrastructure, which will offer download speeds of over 100Mbps. A further 20,000 homes in less densely built-up areas, including Wetzelsdorf, Webling, Andritz and Mariatrost, will gain access to fibre-to-the-curb (FTTC) infrastructure at a later stage.
