Nepal Telecom expands microwave radio to every district

24 Aug 2016

Nepal Telecom (NT) says it now has microwave radio backhaul links to all 75 districts of the country after adding connections to the district headquarters in the Mugu, Humla and Dolpa regions. Previously these areas in the mountainous northwest of Nepal were served by satellite connections, the Himalayan Times reports. The telco says the expansion of its microwave links will enable subscribers to enjoy improved connectivity in landline, GSM, CDMA and ADSL internet services, while also paving the way for the company to expand its 3G and WiMAX services in the three regions.
