First Media: 1.74m homes passed and 966,000 broadband subs at end-June

First Media, controlled by AcrossAsia Multimedia, the technology arm of Indonesian conglomerate Lippo Group, claims to now hold a dominant position in Jakarta’s fixed broadband market, aided by what it terms its innovative services. In a statement, group president Irwan Djaja said: ‘We are the market leader with a predominance in five major cities in Indonesia, especially Jakarta,’ noting that the operator’s footprint covers Greater Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, Bali and Malang. First Media reported revenue of IDR1.393 trillion (USD105.45 million) in the six months ended 30 June 2016, up 13% from IDR1.232 trillion in the corresponding period of 2015. At the same date its network rollout had reached 1.74 million connected homes (homes passed) with a total of 966,000 subscribers.
