Polish mobile operator Play has announced that its new quad-band carrier aggregation (CA) solution ‘LTE Ultra’ is now up and running. The upgraded network, which utilises the company’s newly awarded 800MHz and 2600MHz frequencies, alongside its existing 1800MHz and 2100MHz spectrum, is now live at around 1,500 base transceiver stations (BTS). LTE Ultra, which supports download speeds of up to 262Mbps via devices such as the Huawei E5186, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, the HTC 10 and the Sony Xperia X Performance, is available to 73.3% of the population, compared to the 89.2% coverage metric offered by its standard LTE network.
