Slovanet to widen TD-LTE coverage to 107 new locations

Slovakian ISP Slovanet has announced plans to expand the coverage of its time division duplex (TD)-LTE network to a further 107 towns and villages by October. The expansion will enable a further 120,000 inhabitants to gain access to the operator’s fixed-wireless broadband network, which operates in the 3.5GHz band, following recent launches in Komarno, Poprad, Bardejov, Humenne, Michalovce and their surrounding area. Slovanet’s TD-LTE service was launched towards the end of 2015, offering maximum download speeds ranging from 8Mbps and 100Mbps. The firm says its focuses on providing broadband access in underserved rural areas of the country.
