ACCC gives the nod to Telstra's revised Migration Plan

Telstra’s varied Migration Plan, which details the way in which it will progressively migrate voice and broadband services to the National Broadband Network (NBN) as it is rolled out, has been approved by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). Confirming its decision in a press release, the ACCC’s chairman Rod Sims said: ‘The changes to the Migration Plan offer further safeguards for telecommunications customers so they can maintain access to the services they value during migration to the NBN … These changes will allow retail service providers more time to complete their migration activities before managed disconnection, and are intended to promote a more positive experience for customers as they move to NBN services.’

The variation to the Migration Plan will provide for improved disconnection arrangements based on current, practical experience of migrating services to the multi-technology mix NBN, and includes further changes to accommodate the migration of business services by NBN access technology.
