Orange and Netia to collaborate on FTTH rollout

19 Jul 2016

Polish telcos Orange Polska and Netia are reported to be close to signing an agreement which will see them collaborate on the deployment of high speed fibre-optic infrastructure. The joint fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) rollout will cut capital expenditure for the two firms and speed up their return on investment. Local newspaper Parkiet estimates the cost of the pair’s fibre investments to total PLN2.6 billion (USD695 million). Orange and Netia are two of the largest ISPs in Poland in terms of subscribers, accounting for more than 40% of all users between them.
