nbn, the company overseeing Australia’s National Broadband Network (NBN) project, has announced the signing of contracts with six ‘Delivery Partners’ for the delivery of services to premises across the Telstra HFC network. In a press release nbn revealed that, following a multi-stage contract sourcing process, it has appointed Lend Lease, Broadspectrum, Fulton Hogan, Downer, ISGM and BSA to carry out the construction of the NBN across fixed line incumbent Telstra’s cable footprint; each of the aforementioned companies has inked a ‘Multi-technology Integrated Master Agreement’ (‘MIMA’) with nbn.

Peter Ryan, nbn’s Chief Network Engineering Officer, said of the contracts: ‘With this additional work from our Delivery Partners the HFC network will be deployed at scale to enable nbn to meet its 2020 targets … Telstra will manage the MIMA Delivery Partners in the construction of the network within the Telstra HFC footprint. Telstra’s management of the MIMA Delivery Partners will be undertaken in close consultation with nbn.’
