Mexican triple-play operator TotalPlay, which was launched in November 2010 by Ricardo Salinas, Mexico’s second-richest man, has announced that its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) networks are now available to a total of six million households across 20 different cities. The USD400 million rollout, which was first divulged in February 2015, supports downlink transmission speeds of up to 300Mbps across the ISP’s footprint.

Director general Eduardo Kuri commented: ‘Our exponential growth forms part of our commitment to provide Mexicans with the best connectivity services and the latest technology … TotalPlay offers faster connection speeds, the best TV channels and the highest quality telephony in Mexico and Latin America’. The executive added that the operator now has more than 450,000 subscribers on its books.
