Bouygues accelerates 2G/3G/4G network rollout in Corsica

French operator Bouygues Telecom has announced plans to expand the coverage of its mobile voice and data network on the island of Corsica, in partnership with the Association Nationale des Elus de la Montagne (ANEM). At present, the firm’s 2G/3G services are available in 242 of Corsica’s 360 communes, but by the end of this year the network will be rolled out to a further 64, representing 98% of the population. 4G network coverage, meanwhile, will increase from 87 to 126 communes by the end of the year, followed by an additional 56 communes in 2017, representing 94% of the population.
