State-backed full service provider Tunisie Telecom (TT) is negotiating a EUR105 million (USD117.1 million) loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to help bankroll a nationwide 4G rollout, expected to cost a total of around EUR200 million. According to the EIB, the bank will require TT to procure equipment in accordance with its own guidelines and relevant EU procurement rules. LTE concessions were allocated to all three of Tunisia’s wireless providers in March 2016, and TT began offering 4G services the following month. The cellco’s network currently covers areas of Greater Tunis, Sfax, Sousse and Bizerte.
