28 Jun 2016

French telecoms provider Orange has revealed plans to start transitioning to all-IP telephony services in early 2017, domestic news source l’Express VotreArgent reports. The operator will embark on a trial to replace PSTN lines with VoIP connections in 14 towns in the Finistere department, including Concarneau and Fouesnant. The offer will be extended to ISDN lines from 2018. Following a two-year trial period, Orange will start migrating all residential and PSTN subscribers in the region to IP telephony, in cooperation with telecoms watchdog the Authority of Regulation for Electronic Communications and Posts (Autorite de Regulation des Communications Electroniques et des Postes, Arcep).
