Orange Poland reaches a million homes with fibre

28 Jun 2016

Polish fixed and mobile operator Orange Polska has now covered a million homes in 26 cities with its fibre-optic broadband infrastructure. The company says it is looking to add coverage in a further 33 cities by the end of this year and reach a quarter of all homes in Poland – some 3.5 million premises – within three years, with a planned investment of PLN2.2 billion (USD589 million). According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Orange launched its first fibre-based services in April 2013 to complement its existing DSL offerings, and the firm had signed 2.08 million broadband internet subscribers at the end of March 2016.
