Arcep consults on geographical adjustment of unbundling tariffs

28 Jun 2016

French telecoms watchdog the Authority of Regulation for Electronic Communications and Posts (Autorite de Regulation des Communications Electroniques et des Postes, Arcep) has launched a public consultation on new regulation governing the pricing of the copper network, which outlines a possible geographical adjustment to the recurring monthly price of the copper pair. The proposed framework is aimed at encouraging users to switch from the legacy copper network to new superfast networks. The regulator has already conducted studies on this transition to optical fibre and is now seeking further market feedback on the economic model to encourage the transition. All interested parties are invited to submit their comments by 9 September.
