Orange Poland to expand fibre network to 3.5m homes

Orange Poland has unveiled plans to extend its fibre-optic network coverage to ten additional cities by 2018, up from 16 currently. According to a report from Digital TV Europe, the fixed and mobile operator will be deploying new infrastructure in Bielsko-Biala, Czestochowa, Gdynia, Gorzow Wielkopolski, Kielce, Olsztyn, Radom, Rzeszow, Torun and Wloclawek, as it looks to expand its fibre footprint to 3.5 million homes compared to 820,000 at present. Orange had 2.1 million broadband internet subscribers at the end of 2015, TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database notes.
