An appeal by Vodafone Netherlands against the takeover of fibre network operator Reggefiber by incumbent telco KPN has been dismissed. A report from De Telegraaf says that a court in Rotterdam has agreed with the verdict of the Dutch competition watchdog, Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM), which had previously given the green light to the 2014 deal after finding that it would have no negative impact on competition. KPN acquired a stake in the fibre operator in 2008 and then took full control in November 2014. Founded in 2005, Reggefiber has focused on the rollout and operation of an open access fibre-optic network which now passes almost two million households in over 220 municipalities.
