MTS Belarus rolls out 200Mbps residential broadband service

4 May 2016

Belarusian mobile and fixed telephony provider MTS Belarus has announced the launch of a new high speed residential service ‘Home Connect 5’, which promises peak connections of up to 200Mbps. Furthermore, as a fillip to news users the operator is launching the offer with a promotional half price rental for the first six months, for anyone signing up before 31 August 2016. As a caveat though, it notes that the maximum download speeds are limited to off-peak hours (i.e. 02:00hrs-08:00hrs) and on peak times are capped at 100Mbps. Home Connect 5 costs BYR350,000 (USD20.31), it says, although it also offers speeds to suit all pockets, with the Home Connect 1 plan (up to 20Mbps off-peak) costing BYR151,042 per month.
