Vodafone Italy launches 500Mbps broadband

19 Apr 2016

Vodafone Italy has launched a 500Mbps fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) offering in the cities of Milan, Turin and Bologna. The firm claims that the new service is the fastest broadband available in Italy and is five times quicker than its previous peak speed. The 500Mbps service is offered over infrastructure deployed by fibre network partner Metroweb; Vodafone’s own 100Mbps fibre system currently passes some 8.5 million households and businesses in 270 Italian cities and towns. Meanwhile, Vodafone has also announced that all new fibre activations will be given six months free access to the Netflix video streaming service.
