Wind linked with Cyta Hellas move

Speculation is mounting that Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (Cyta) is looking to offload its Greek unit Cyta Hellas, with Athens-based fixed and mobile operator Wind Hellas linked as a potential buyer. Online news portal In-Cyprus reports that the management of state-owned Cyta is keen to sell the Greek broadband provider and MVNO, which is dragging down the parent company’s financial results. Wind Hellas, which is owned by a group of investors via holding company Largo Ltd, has been linked as a potential merger partner for Cyta Hellas in the past, but the latest reports suggest that talks are now more likely to lead to an agreement.
