Broadband Belgium to set up 3.5GHz TD-LTE network

18 Apr 2016

Belgian wireless broadband operator b.lite and its sister company Mac Telecom have transferred their combined 3.5GHz and 10.5GHz spectrum rights to Brussels-based start-up firm Broadband Belgium. Broadband Belgium is looking to use the 3.5GHz frequencies to set up a time division duplex LTE (TD-LTE) wireless internet network in Brussels by the end of this year, Telecompaper writes. The Belgian Institute for Post and Telecommunications (BIPT) approved the transfer of spectrum rights in December 2015, with the licences keeping their existing expiry date of April 2019.
