Huawei, StarHub claim ‘world’s fastest indoor 4G speed'

15 Apr 2016

China’s Huawei and Singaporean network operator StarHub have given a live demo of the world’s fastest 4G indoor coverage solution, achieving speeds of up to 1Gbps, a press release claims. Using a single small cell base station, the 4G LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) solution combines StarHub’s 55MHz of spectrum across the 1800MHz, 2100MHz and 2600MHz bands to deliver gigabit bandwidth, whilst other technologies involved include ‘256 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation, 3-component-carrier aggregation and Distributed Multiple Input Multiple Output.’ Commercial trials of the solution are ongoing, and StarHub aims to deploy it when supported phone models reach Singapore.
