Packet One rebranding as Webe

14 Apr 2016

Malaysia’s Packet One Networks (P1), which is jointly owned by Telekom Malaysia, Green Packet and South Korea’s SK Telecom (SKT), is being rebranded as ‘Webe’, it has announced. According to The Edge Markets, P1 chief executive Puan Chan Cheong claimed that the rebranding was being carried out to coincide with the company’s business development plan at the launch of Webe Community, a mobile app aimed at promoting community projects. Meanwhile, in a press release confirming its new moniker, the wireless broadband provider confirmed that it is still working towards the introduction of LTE-based services, noting: ‘If you were wondering when we’ll tell you about our new LTE service (yes, that’s coming), stay tuned for more news in the upcoming weeks.’
