British mobile network operator O2 UK has announced that from this week its 4G network will be available in some 6,000 towns across the UK, representing coverage of 87% of the ‘outdoor population’. In a press release confirming the scope of its LTE infrastructure, O2 UK claimed that this is its fastest network rollout to date, as it seeks to meet the obligations of its concession which require it to deliver 98% indoor population coverage by end-2017.
