Auction documents published for Hungarian 3.4GHz-3.8GHz licences

13 Apr 2016

Hungary’s National Media & Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) has published the auction documentation for prospective bidders in the upcoming auction for wireless broadband licences in the 3400MHz-3800MHz frequency band. Applications to participate must be filed with the regulator by 2 May 2016. Winning bidders will be entitled to use the spectrum until 2034. The watchdog notes that the licensing terms were finalised following consultations with telecoms service providers, with the aim of meeting broadband demand in underserved areas, boosting available capacity in areas of intensive usage and stepping up competition in the Hungarian market.
