Frontier wraps up acquisition of Verizon wireline assets in California, Texas, Florida

Frontier Communications has signalled the completion of its previously announced USD10.54 billion acquisition of Verizon Communications’ wireline operations in California, Texas and Florida. The acquired businesses include approximately 3.3 million voice connections, 2.1 million broadband connections, and 1.2 million IPTV subscribers, as well as the related incumbent local exchange carrier (ILEC) businesses. After the transaction was announced on 5 February 2015, Frontier received regulatory clearance from the US Department of Justice, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the California Public Utilities Commission, the Public Utility Commission of Texas and other public authorities.

Daniel J. McCarthy, Frontier’s President and CEO, commented: ‘It significantly expands our presence in three high-growth, high-density states, and improves our revenue mix by increasing the percentage of our revenues coming from segments with the most promising growth potential.’
