Vodafone Germany has announced that its 200Mbps cable broadband service is available to more than twelve million households across the country, equivalent to around 25 million Germans, or one-quarter of the population. In addition, the UK-owned firm has revealed that it plans to enable maximum download speeds of 400Mbps for 60% of households situated within its cable network footprint by autumn this year.

TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database notes that Vodafone Germany is the country’s second largest fixed broadband operator by subscribers, with a total of 5.691 million xDSL and cable customers at the end of December 2015, behind only Telekom Deutschland with 12.644 million fixed broadband users at the same date.
