ARC acquires 18.1% stake in MetroFibre Networx

African Rainbow Capital (ARC) has secured an 18.1% minority stake in South African operator MetroFibre Networx (MFN) – which provides fibre-based services with maximum downlink speeds of 1Gbps in the Gauteng province – for an undisclosed sum. MFN said in a press release: ‘We believe that through our new partnership with African Rainbow Capital and the capital injection their investment into our business provides we will be able to further grow and expand our network and service offerings.’ The operator currently offers fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) services in Kyalami, Sunninghill, Barbeque Downs, Lonehill, Heathcliff, Blue Hills, Beaulieu and Glenferness, in addition to parts of Paulshof, Sandton and Rivonia. MFN is targeting 50,000 live FTTH connections by December 2018.
