Vodafone Germany’s 200Mbps cable footprint reaches 10m homes

Vodafone Germany has widened the coverage of its 200Mbps cable broadband service to a further 620,000 households, expanding the number of homes within its high speed footprint to more than ten million. The latest areas to gain access to the operator’s 200Mbps/12Mbps down/uplink broadband service are Hamburg, Ammersbek, Aumuehle, Barsbuettel, Dassendorf, Glinde, Oststeinbek, Reinbek, Wentorf and Wohltorf.

TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database notes that Vodafone Germany is the country’s second largest fixed broadband operator by subscribers, with a total of 5.691 million xDSL and cable customers at the end of December 2015, behind only Telekom Deutschland with 12.644 million fixed broadband users at the same date.
