8 Mar 2016

Hong Kong telco Wharf T&T has acquired local business-focused ISP PIHK Network from Telstra Corporation of Australia. According to Wharf, PIHK operates a successful non-network infrastructure-based business internet service. It serves over 4,000 enterprises in Hong Kong, offering a range of ICT solutions, including business broadband, local wide area network connections, global IP VPN networking, data centre, web hosting, email and messaging services. Wharf says the acquisition will complement its own portfolio, which is offered to over 50,000 business users in 5,000 connected buildings. Wharf recently announced a 2% increase in turnover for full-year 2015 to HKD1.99 billion (USD257 million), with core fixed line revenues up 5% at HKD1.35 billion.
