Newly formed Macedonian cellco One.Vip, which was created by the merger of Telekom Slovenije’s subsidiary ONE and Telekom Austria’s domestic unit Vip Operator, has revealed that it has covered half of Skopje with its newly upgraded wireless network. Looking ahead, the company said that the western part of the capital will be covered by the end of this month.
TeleGeography notes that the operator embarked on a project worth ‘double digit million euros’ to upgrade its integrated mobile network in December 2015, with plans to extend mobile coverage, 3G capacity and provide nationwide 4G LTE services by the end of 2016. The network has already been updated in Kumanovo, Kriva Palanka and Kratovo. Going forward, by the end of the year all urban parts of Macedonia will be within its footprint.
