Frontier deploying IPTV to 7m households

25 Feb 2016

US fixed network operator Frontier Communications has stated plans to deploy IPTV services to around seven million of its network users across forty markets in three to four years. Frontier’s IPTV platform uses Ericsson’s Mediaroom technology and a wireless gateway to transmit 630 channels around the house, whilst IPTV rollout will mainly be based on Frontier’s fibre-to-the-node (FTTN) infrastructure and fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network assets which are in the process of being acquired from Verizon, writes DSLreports.com.
