Singtel to deploy nationwide tri-band LTE by March

18 Feb 2016

Singapore’s largest operator by subscribers Singtel is planning to deploy a nationwide LTE network in the 900MHz band by end-March, in cooperation with Swedish equipment vendor Ericsson. The rollout will increase the operator’s 4G indoor coverage and provide ‘more consistent’ network performance, while also allowing Singtel to offer nationwide tri-band carrier aggregation (3C) technology by using spectrum in the 900MHz, 1800MHz and 2600MHz bands. Tay Yeow Lian, managing director of Networks at Singtel, said: ‘This LTE-900 boost is part of our ongoing network investments to deliver an unrivalled 4G LTE experience, which is important to our customers. They can now stream music and videos on-the-go with even greater ease.’
