Monaco Telecom selects OpenCloud for virtualised VoLTE

18 Feb 2016

UK-based vendor OpenCloud has announced that its Sentinel voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) product has been selected for deployment within Monaco Telecom’s virtualised network. The UK firm notes that it will provide the application servers to deliver multimedia telephony services and the service centralisation and continuity applications which enable the interoperation and handover of calls between the legacy network and the telco’s VoLTE/IMS/LTE network. Further, the open nature of the vendor’s product will enable Monaco Telecom to ‘freely develop innovative service extensions without a dependency on the vendor’. As such, Monaco Telecom anticipates using an in-house team to leverage this capability and create competitive service offerings to address the specific needs of the local market.
