Millicom Tanzania (Tigo) expects its 4G LTE network coverage to reach all regions of the country by the end of the year, according to The Citizen, citing Tigo Chief Commercial Operator Shavkat Berdiev. As previously reported by TeleGeography’s CommsUpdate, the operator invested USD120 million on network expansion and enhancements during 2015 and launched 4G services in April that year, initially in the capital Dar es Salaam, before extending coverage to Morogoro, Dodoma, Tanga and Arusha. The Citizen notes that Tigo will roll out LTE technology to the Kilimanjaro region next month, before continuing further expansion.
