Estonia’s Eesti Telekom rebrands as Telia

21 Jan 2016

TeliaSonera has announced the rebranding of its operations in Estonia under the unified ‘Telia’ banner. The Swedish group is the sole owner of Eesti Telekom, which provides mobile services under the EMT name and fixed line services as Elion. From 20 January all operations will take the Telia brand. Meanwhile, TeliaSonera is also launching a new offer for its Estonian mobile customers under which roaming fees will be abolished when calling or using data services in Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, Denmark or Norway. The newly re-christened Telia is Estonia’s largest fixed and wireless operator by subscribers; according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, it controls 42% of the mobile market and almost 60% of the fixed internet sector in subscriber terms.
