AT&T Mexico 4G rollout gathers pace; 32 cities now covered

US telecoms giant AT&T has ramped up its 4G coverage in Mexico, where it completed the dual acquisition of Iusacell and Nextel in early 2016. According to the AT&T Mexico website, the cellco now boasts LTE coverage of 32 cities, namely: Aguascalientes, Arandas, Atlacomulco, Cadereyta, Cancun, Cardel, Celaya, Cordoba, Cuautla, Cuernavaca, Guadalajara, Guanajuato, Huamantla, Irapuato, Jalapa, Leon, Monterrey, Orizaba, Pachuca, Puebla, Queretaro, Salamanca, San Juan de los Lagos, San Juan del Rio, San Luis Potosi, San Miguel de Allende, Silao, Tepeji del Rio, Tepatitlan, Toluca, Tulancingo and Veracruz.

Going forward, AT&T expects to cover 75 million people, or nearly two-thirds of the Mexican population, by the end of this year and 100 million people by the end of 2018.
