14 Jan 2016

Mediacom, the eighth largest cable operator by subscribers in the US, has enlisted Massachusetts-based cable edge technology vendor Casa Systems to upgrade its network to support Gigabit download speeds. In the initial phase, Casa will deploy its C100G Converged Cable Access Platform (CCAP) in Columbia and Jefferson City (both Missouri) with a view to improving customers’ quality of experience (QoE). The C100G solution is designed to offer higher channel density, DOCSIS 3.1 readiness and easy scalability for future growth, the vendor said. JR Walden, Mediacom’s senior vice president of technology, commented: ‘We are excited to bring our long experience providing commercial-grade Gigabit services to our residential customers beginning with these communities in mid-Missouri’.
