TelOne to begin network modernisation by March

13 Jan 2016

Zimbabwe’s state-owned fixed line operator TelOne says it will start accessing funds from a USD98 million loan facility by the end of March as it embarks on a network modernisation programme. Local newspaper The Chronicle reports that TelOne is to expand its fibre backbone infrastructure, improve its value added service offerings and continue with the digitisation of its networks. The operator is also looking to improve its broadband access networks. The USD98 million loan facility was signed with the China Exim Bank in December.
