11 Jan 2016

T-Mobile Netherlands is to launch its LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) 4G+ network this week, enabling it to increase peak speeds on its network by around 50%. The network uses carrier aggregation across the 900MHz and 1800MHz bands, Telecompaper reports. The new LTE-A service is available to 76% of the population at launch, with plans to extend it nationwide by 3Q 2016. T-Mobile claims around 20% of the Dutch mobile market, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, with 3.69 million customers at the end of September 2015. Rival operators KPN, Vodafone and Tele2 have already launched their own LTE-A networks.
