MCIT pushes back deadline for fourth mobile licence application

4 Jan 2016

Myanmar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has pushed back the deadline for Expressions of Interest (EoI) in the country’s fourth mobile licence to 8 January 2016 from its previous deadline of 18 December 2015. No reason for the delay was given. As previously noted by TeleGeography’s CommsUpdate, the successful applicant will be handed a 15-year licence and form a joint venture with a consortium of eleven local companies, including ISP Yatanarpon Teleport (YTP).
