Vodafone Germany has announced that coverage of its 200Mbps cable broadband service has reached eight million households in the country, twelve months after the Dusseldorf-based company began rolling out the higher speed service across its network footprint. In addition, Vodafone says that around 14.6 million German homes are able to access speeds of up to 100Mbps via its infrastructure. Going forward, the firm is aiming to increase the availability of its 200Mbps service to over ten million households by early 2016, as well as commencing the rollout of speeds of up to 500Mbps in select locations.
TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database notes that Vodafone Germany is the country’s second largest fixed broadband operator by subscribers, with a total of 5.586 million customers at the end of September 2015, behind only Telekom Deutschland with 12.596 million fixed broadband users at the same date.
