Xplornet selects Alianza’s cloud VoIP solution for home phones

15 Dec 2015

Canadian rural wireless broadband specialist Xplornet Communications has selected Alianza’s ‘Cloud Voice Platform’ VoIP solution as the basis of its new Xplornet Home Phone service. Xplornet delivers broadband and VoIP services throughout Canada, including rural and hard-to-reach areas of the vast country, over a network comprised of satellite and fixed-wireless technologies including WiMAX and TD-LTE. Its press release says that the Xplornet Home Phone service gives its customers a ‘compelling’ multi-play bundle which will also boost revenue and ‘deepen customer relationships.’ Chris Johnston, executive VP of marketing at Xplornet, commented: ‘To effectively serve our customers, we need to offer feature-rich voice bundles along with our wireless broadband.’ The release also notes that Alianza has partnered with a larger Canadian telco, Telus Communications, to deliver a comprehensive VoIP solution for Xplornet via ‘Telus Partner Solutions’, which provides wholesale carrier services, including phone numbers, emergency services and global PSTN connections.
