Ooredoo, Alca-Lu sign five-year IP, transport network supply agreement

19 Nov 2015

Qatar’s Ooredoo Group has signed a five-year frame supply agreement with French-US vendor Alcatel-Lucent for the supply of ultra-broadband IP and transport networks for operations across the Ooredoo footprint in the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and Southeast Asia regions. Alcatel-Lucent will supply full packet microwave, high bandwidth optical networking and IP routing platforms under the agreement, which builds on a long-standing collaboration. Philippe Guillemot, COO at Alcatel-Lucent, said that Ooredoo required the latest high speed IP/transport solutions to meet the challenges of a networking landscape evolving to address the shift to video, cloud-based services and massive networking traffic growth.
