Tele2 Croatia plans LTE in Q1 2016

18 Nov 2015

Tele2 Croatia has announced plans to launch its LTE network in the first quarter of 2016, enabling it to compete for 4G subscribers alongside rivals T-HT (formerly T-Mobile Croatia) and VIPnet, both of which introduced LTE back in 2012. Swedish-owned Tele2 says it will have completed a nine-month network upgrade by the middle of next month, under which it has doubled 3G data speeds and increased coverage to 99% of the population for voice services and 97% for data. The firm says its 4G network will have ‘national’ coverage at launch. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Tele2 claimed 17% of Croatia’s 4.8 million mobile subscribers by the end of June 2015.
