Ooredoo signs frame agreement with Ericsson for radio, core, transmission solutions

Qatari telecoms operator Ooredoo Group and Swedish technology provider Ericsson have signed a five-year frame agreement for the supply of radio, core and transmission solutions, as well as related implementation and integration services. The group-wide agreement includes 2G, 3G and 4G radio equipment, indoor small cells solutions, Mobile Softswitching, Evolved Packet Core and MINI-LINK microwave transmission equipment, plus Ericsson’s software packages designed to increase performance and reduce time to market for new functionalities. The framework deal applies across Ooredoo’s multinational footprint including Indonesia, Qatar, Iraq, Algeria, Kuwait, Oman, Tunisia, the Maldives, Palestinian Territories, Myanmar and Pakistan.
