Iliad reports strong revenues, subscriber growth in 9M15

French telecoms company Iliad Group has published its financial results for the nine months ended 30 September 2015, reporting 6.4% annual growth in its consolidated revenues to EUR3.271 billion (USD3.51 billion), up from EUR3.074 billion in 9M 2014. The positive development was mainly attributed to sustained growth by the company’s mobile operations, which generated revenues of EUR1.343 billion in the period under review, up by 15.7% from EUR1.161 billion in the corresponding period of 2014. Landline revenues meanwhile remained increased marginally (0.8%) in the nine months under review, to EUR1.936 billion.

In operational terms, the group’s total mobile customer base reached 11.315 million by 30 September 2015, with 390,000 net additions in the preceding three months. At end-September 2015, Free had 2.8 million 4G users with average data usage of 2.8GB per month (up from 2.2G in Q2 2015). The number of broadband subscribers also increased, albeit more modestly, to 6.082 million by end-September 2015 (5.991 million in 2Q15). Further, the company noted that quarterly broadband ARPU remained flat at EUR34.50. The operator noted that more than 650 new 4G base transceiver stations (BTS) were deployed in the third quarter of its financial year, thus bringing the total to 4,648 sites (57% of French population).
