3 Nov 2015

Hong Kong fibre internet provider HKBN (Hong Kong Broadband Network) has reported a 10% rise in turnover for its financial year to 31 August 2015 to HKD2.34 billion (USD302 million), while EBITDA increased 16% to HKD979 million. Net profit was up by 95% year-on-year to HKD104 million. The firm attributed the positive performance to continued subscriber and ARPU growth; net additions of residential broadband subscriptions accelerated to 62,000 (up from 32,000 in FY 2013/14) for a total of 754,000 as of end-August 2015, while monthly ARPU rose 5% to HKD183. HKBN said its fibre networks passed some 2.14 million homes and 2,000 commercial buildings by end-August.
